 Crystal Highlight Preseli Bluestone (Dolerite)

Preseli Bluestone also called Dolerite or Spotted Dolerite is only found in the Preseli Mountains in Wales, Great Britain.  These amazing crystals make up the inner circle of Stonehenge. This is a unique and rare crystal.

In British Mythology during the twelfth-century Geoffrey of Monmouth used the myth that Merlin brought the Preseli Bluestones from Wales to Stonehenge for the medicinal properties that could be used from washing the s tones than pouring them into baths.  The water would absorb the healing virtues and spread that to those taking a bath.

Contrary to the name Preseli Bluestones are green not blue, if you expect a bluestone don't be surprised that the coloring is actually green with white specks.


It is believed that the Preseli Bluestones were erected in 2500 BCE at Stonehenge and the Sarsen Stones were put up in 2900 BCE. Some speculate that ancient people would go to Stonehenge for the healing properties of the giant stones making up the circles.  The Preseli Bluestone (Dolerite) makes up the inner circle of Stonehenge.

When working with Preseli Bluestones they have a high frequency. If you are not use to working with high frequency stones work with them a 10-15 minutes a day until you are use to working with the high frequency. Preseli Bluestone/Dolerite is extremely rare with high healing and protective qualities.

Preseli Bluestone is also know as Preseli Stone, Spotted Dolerite, Dolerite, and Stonehenge. It forms from igneous rock that crystallizes.  It is made up of multiple minerals of Dolerite, Plagioclase, Diopside, Biotite and Quartz. The coloring is green hues, can be light green to a forest green throughout the specimen with white and black specs. 

Hardness: 8-0

Chakra: Root, Third Eye, Heart, Throat, and Crown

Properties: attunement to ancient knowledge, healing, vitality, connection to past lives, connection to spirits, protection, and clears emotional blocks.

 I am constantly asked about candle magic.  The biggest thing I am asked is typically about how the candle melted or lack of melting. Most recently a client, did a jar spell and indicated that " The candle didn't melt well, it wasn't nearly as drippy  ".   This particular client then left their cast circle to search for a candle to make the candle "drippy" and "melt well". Religious Discrimination: why are people so hateful?

Throughout history, there has been Religious Discrimination.  What amazes me the most is that people in Christianity who follow Jesus seem to be the most hateful people in the world.   When I was in a Christian religion I was horrified and disgusted that they would teach to love one another. Literally when I was Christian this scripture was shoved down my throat weekly: “I give you a  new commandment : love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another” John 13:34   I will never understand why these religious zealots are so hateful.  Most of the time they are the ones treating women horribly (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse).
